abandoned for google too often changing their code

packpapier

Packpapier (german for wrapping paper) is a simple PHP wrapper for google. It removes all the annoying stuff, like ads, javascript, pictures and so on. Most extended Google features are lost, but most of them are more annoying than realy usefull for me.

I'm not sure if providing such thing as a service would be legal ($file Scroogle does something alike, so it may be legal), so i provide no testing service or anything.

The current version of the script seems to be rather robust against small changes in the html that google returns, like leaving quote mark in attributes. Within time ive seen some variants of the result code (using lists instead of divs for example), but i think that the older ones are obsolet now. The existence or absence of some feature are used to give the current style a number (googistyle). As it seems, this number should be 16 for now. Before the latest redesign, common styles where 0 and 8.

Sometimes there are small fixes that are not in the svn. The latest active experimental .php
